Mahler4 concerns the expansion of Amsterdam's Zuid-as (Southern Axis), a highly compact and dynamic urban district that combines living, working and leisure environments. Not a soulless business park, but a lively new city centre with an inspiring shopping and entertainment area. A total of eight office blocks, some 200 apartments, a car park and shops and catering establishments will be realised here. A dream location for entrepreneurs, employees and residents.

Cofely is responsible for Mahler4's total energy supply for the next 15 years. Cofely will handle the energy supply and the administration of the power plant and distribution grids for electricity, heating, cooling and hot tap water. Cofely will remain owner and operator of the power supply system. The energy installation will be almost entirely CO2 neutral, thanks to the use of heat pumps, long-term energy storage facilities and renewable energy to power the plant. Cofely informed its client of the possibility of receiving government subsidies, which can help cut the initial costs for the energy installation by 20%.

Asset Efficiency

  • Cofely is the owner of the power plant. This results in a saving for the client, since there is no need for him to make any personal investments in that regard.
  • The energy supply is simplified, thanks to the use of seasonal thermal storage systems and heat pumps. The system does not make use of a roof-based climate control system, so there is no need to feed all pipes to the very top of the building. The installation is housed in the building?s basement, and this also makes more efficient maintenance work possible.
  • Single point of contact: This contact person ensures efficient utilisation of various Cofely components in terms of installation, maintenance and administration, and is responsible for guaranteeing the level of quality and optimal availability of the installation.
